Why should I register for this site?

While registration is not required to access Vision Worthington, it is necessary for many of the more interactive engagement opportunities. We ask you to register with the website for a few reasons:

  • It allows us to connect your feedback, input and opinions to your email address so that we can engage with you directly as needed. We can also attribute your site activity to a single individual, giving us a more holistic view of your feedback and input.
  • It promotes accountability and encourages people to provide more thoughtful responses.
  • It also means that we can contact you with new opportunities to engage in the visioning process.

Is my privacy protected?

When you register, you can select an anonymous username. This will allow you to participate without site users knowing who you are – unless you disclose that information. However, your activity will be linked to your registered email address for the Visioning Committee to contact you if necessary and attribute your feedback to a single user.

Your privacy is absolutely protected, and the Visioning Committee will only use your email to contact you with information related to Vision Worthington. Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any other purpose.

How are discussion forums moderated?

All public comments are moderated 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for inappropriate language, comments that disrespect other participants, and for comments that are off topic.

All moderation is carried out by Bang the Table (our site host). The moderators do not edit or alter any comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, offensive or malicious, in which case they are removed from the site immediately and the person who posted the comment is advised by email. See the site moderation policy for more details.
